Nominate your Friends Group (RIGHT click here to save the application form as a Microsoft Word Document) for the William E. Reeves Friends Recognition Awards that COLA gives at its annual meeting in February. There are usually three winners, each one a Friends Group, who take home a check for $100 in recognition of an outstanding program or event. You can send in a printed copy of the form, or submit it as an email attachment to COLA. (Click here to see awards in previous years.)
COLA recognizes the many valuable contributions which Friends groups make to their local libraries. Not only do they raise money for their libraries, but they also run programs and engage in a variety of community outreach and public relations activities. They educate the public about what libraries have to offer, build support in the community, and participate in advocacy on the local and state levels on behalf of libraries. COLA wishes to broaden and deepen our relationships with Friends groups.
Think about what your group has done in the past year and consider applying for one of our awards. It will only take a few minutes and could be worthwhile - you can't win unless you enter!
Don't procrastinate! Give the COLA Friends Awards your attention and send back your nomination form. We'd love to see your group recognized at our Annual Meeting in February. And if your Friends haven't joined COLA this year, please do it now - COLA's a "hot" $25.00 investment for its sponsoring Friends!
